What is Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Spec III?

When the Playstation 3 software Gran Turismo 5 Prologue sold on December 13, 2007 is updated to the latest specifications including all free online updates distributed from its release up to October 3, 2008, it has been updated to Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Spec III (Called Spec III hereafter).

It is possible to purchase a product that has already been updated to Spec III, or update an earlier version of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue you have on hand to Spec III. The update to Spec III is free of charge.

The pre-updated, Spec III software will also go on sale October 30, 2008. The suggested retail price is 4980 yen (Tax incl.) for the Blu-ray disc version, and 4500 yen for the download version. Also, the Blu-ray disc version of Spec III will be included for a limited time in the Playstation 3 console going on sale on the same date.

Online updates require the Gran Turismo 5 Prologue or Spec III software, and a PLAYSTATION®3 that has a broadband network connection to the Internet. If you start the game while logged into the PlayStation® Network, the updating process will start automatically if there is an available update. If there are new free online updates after Spec III, they will be applied to equally both Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and to Spec III.
